Lily’s Kids Inc. was sponsored by Integrated Health Services LLC to provide a six session of our Heart Yourself Program to 5th-grade students at Silver Lane Elementary School in East Hartford during February and March 2013. This unique collaboration among a school-based health center, public school system, and a non-profit organization allowed for an intensive health education around healthy eating, not smoking, and physical activity through a multi-modal learning approach. Students were able to get their heart pumping while learning lifelong strategies to keep their hearts healthy.
